Dubuque Church Hosts Free Food Distribution to Support Families Facing Food Insecurity

The event will run from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the church, 1755 Delhi Street, and is open to anyone in need. Food will be distributed while supplies last, with no pre-registration required. Volunteers will serve food inside and outside the church, bringing groceries to those who prefer to stay in their vehicles. Families unable to attend can also have a proxy pick up food for them. Organizers say the effort is part of Holy Trinity's ongoing Hunger Outreach Program, which provides food and community support to Dubuque residents year-round. Cedar Rapids animal center hosts free dog food giveaway amid rising pet food concerns

Iowa State Patrol responds to over 800 calls during Thanksgiving weekend snowstorm

Snow fell continuously Saturday and added up to 15" in parts of the state. Iowa State Patrol worked from the time the snow started Friday afternoon until the winds started to back off Sunday afternoon. During that time, they responded to 856 calls for help, the majority of which were helping motorists (646 of them). They responded to 210 crashes, which included 190 of them with property damage and 20 people injured. New air-quality sensor installed in Linn County to improve monitoring in Cedar Rapids

Dubuque Regional Airport adds special flight to O’Hare ahead of Thanksgiving rush
